i'm a teacher and i have a different take on "look alines". i am white, and i teach inner city children who are african american. it's not that they look alike like twins, but their features are all similar. and then there is culture, for example, i'm jewish. when i walk into a room of people, i can pretty much tell whether it's a jewish group or not. italians look alike. hispanics look alike. and i am sure, to those ethnic, racial or cultural groups, white people look alike. black africans look nothing like african americans. jewish people look alike. chinese people look nothing like japanese people who look nothing like koreans or vietnamese. each group just has certain features that make the group as a whole look alike until you get to know the people.
